Abstract

This is a study on the instructional and assessment strategies in the 21st-century classroom. It is done through a comparative analysis of two lecturers from different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Kuching, Sarawak. This study is conducted as the first step to a more comprehensive research study. The qualitative data obtained are to be used to determine the best practices on 21st-century learning between two HEIs. The eight-item interview questions were adopted from the technology as lever principles. The findings between the two interviewees were found to be consistent with each other. In addition, the findings of this study were also found to be consistent with past research studies. As to conclude, four recommendations were developed and can be immediately implemented by lecturers in HEIs to create a productive learning environment in their 21st-century classrooms.
