  • Journal Of Social Sciences And Technical Education
    Vol. 2 No. 1 (2021)

This special issue of the Journal of Social Sciences and Technical Education (JOSSTED)
comprises five action research articles written by five lecturer-researchers; four from the
General Studies Department and one from the Mathematics, Science, and Computer
Department. The lecturer-researchers have undergone intensive action research
workshops that successfully produced the articles and presented them at the General
Studies Action Research Seminar 2021 organized by Politeknik Kuching Sarawak on 8
September 2021 via an online platform.
I hope that the noble effort to document action research articles in this journal will benefit
contributors and readers interested in conducting Action Research. It is also expected that
this journal will motivate educators and other researchers to conduct more action research
towards upholding the education profession. This collection of action research articles in
this Special Issue of JOSSTED, in line with the theme “Action Research Triggers Creative
and Innovative Educator Excellence”, can be used as:
    1. Teaching and learning materials for lecturers in polytechnics and community
    colleges.
    2. Sources of reference to lecturers, researchers, and those directly involved in
    education and research.
    3. Reference material for lecturers in planning various teaching and learning methods
    in the classroom.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Politeknik Kuching Sarawak for the support in
conducting the action research workshops and seminar. I would also like to thank Cr. Dr.
Ling Ying Leh for his unceasing effort in making sure the participants of the action research
workshops have completed their action research articles and present them at the General
Studies Action Research Seminar. The publication of this special issue would not have
been possible also without the strong support and guidance.
Last but not least, congratulations and appreciation go to the lecturer-researchers for their
total commitment in writing their action research articles that enabled the publication of
    this special issue.
